Crofton Infant School

Our Nursery

Welcome to Crofton Infant School Nursery

Crofton Infant School is part of Connect Schools Academy Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) which means we work together as a group of schools and pre-schools to deliver the highest quality of education to all of our learners.

Crofton Cubs Pre-School (as it was then called) opened in January 2021 into a purpose designed Early Years setting within Crofton Infant School to provide a stimulating and rich curriculum for children between the ages of 2 year- 4 years old.   Since January 2022, Crofton Infant School Nursery has been incorporated into the Infant school. Please note, there is no automatic transition between the Nursery into Reception - applications into Reception MUST be made via the London Borough of Bromley and will be considered against our published admission policy.

Prospective parents are warmly welcomed to visit.  If you would like to arrange a visit, please call: 01689 826320 or email: admin@croftoncubspreschool.co.uk to book an appointment.

Our Vision

Crofton Infant School Nursery provides children with the best possible start to their early education journey and prepares them well for their step into the ‘big wide world of school’ as well as their future, as lifelong learners.

Our setting offers a relevant and exciting curriculum for all children which inspires and offers limitless opportunities to develop a sense of pride in themselves and respect for others, to speak with confidence and improving fluency, to be excited by the ‘real world’ and the world beyond their immediate doorstep.  We want our children to aim high, reach high and believe in their ability to be the best of want they want to be.

Our vision has shaped our approach to the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We feel that it is important, for our children, that our curriculum reflects the aspirations of our community and the needs of our learners. Our vision has driven our curriculum provision and practice and we are confident that we will expose our children to enhanced opportunities that will build on what they currently know and understand.

We want all our children to start the next phase of their education with high levels of self-confidence, resilience, and good learning behaviours.  Crofton Infant School  nursery provides a stimulating and nurturing pre-school setting where tolerance, respect and appreciation of the achievements and differences of others are at the very core of our day-to-day practice.

A Personalised Education

Every child and family who joins our setting will have their own knowledge and experiences that will link to their culture and wider family. We recognise that all children are individuals and want to provide a relevant pre-school experience for each child. It is important that all children can explore all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in ways that are engaging and supportive of their own unique interest and motivators. It is important for us to build effective relationships with all of our children and families so that we can really get to know each child and offer opportunities based on their own individual next steps.

The nursery operates a key worker system.  On joining the nursery, each child is assigned a key person who will spend quality time with you and your child so that we understand each child’s interests; what they can do and any difficulties they might have.  The key person will ensure that the nursery setting is providing for the needs of each of their key children as well as being a contact point for parents. The key person will sensitively observe and monitor each child’s progress across all areas of the curriculum to accurately plan challenging and exciting learning opportunities to achieve your child’s developmental next steps.
