Crofton Infant School

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day, under the government's Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) scheme. At Crofton schools, we contract Olive Dining to provide all our catering. Menus are rotated on a three week basis and changed each term.

UFSMs are distinct from the "free school meal" scheme that is in place for all school age children (i.e. beyond Infant age) and is operated by local authorities (London Borough of Bromley in our area). Free school meals are a very valuable benefit, as not only does this mean your child can receive a delicious meal at school every day, but as things stand, you would also be entitled to receive supermarket vouchers during school holidays.  Additionally, if your child is eligible for free school meals and you register them for this, the school will receive extra funding called "pupil premium".  We use this extra money to improve the educational provision and resources in school, to help pupils reach their full potential regardless of their background or financial situation. You can find out if you are eligible and register (you only need to do that once) here
